It depends on the job, so we publish fixed prices instead of an hourly rate. An EICR is from £200 + VAT for a studio or one-bed home, a consumer unit (fuse board) replacement from £680 + VAT (£780 + VAT for the 8 to 12-way FuseBox board most houses need), an EV charger from £780 + VAT including the charger, fault finding £140 + VAT for the first visit, and small jobs such as replacing a socket or fitting a light from £95 + VAT. A full house rewire is surveyed first and starts from £4,500 + VAT for a one-bed flat and from £5,400 + VAT for a three-bed house. The full list is on our electrician prices in Bristol page.

Not for most work. Across the UK, electricians typically charge £45 to £60 an hour or £335 to £400 a day before VAT and materials, and Bristol sits close to that, so the final bill depends on how long the job takes. We quote a fixed price for the job after looking at it, and the price we agree is the price you pay. If something unexpected turns up once work has started, we stop, show you and agree any change first. The only time-based prices we use are for fault finding, and those are published too.

Check the register above, read the most recent Google reviews rather than the star total alone, and get the price in writing before anyone starts. A good electrician will also tell you which certificate you get at the end: an EICR for an inspection, or an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate for new work, with notifiable jobs registered with Building Control. If a quote does not mention paperwork, ask why.

Every notifiable job is certificated and notified to Building Control through our NAPIT registration, and you get the certificate for your records.

Yes. Every notifiable job we certify, which includes full rewires, consumer unit replacements, new circuits and EV chargers, is registered with NAPIT, so it is covered by the NAPIT Work Quality Guarantee for six years after completion: if notified work is found not to meet the Building Regulations and we were unable to put it right, NAPIT arranges for it to be corrected, up to £25,000 or the contract value. Parts and equipment such as consumer units, chargers and light fittings carry the manufacturer's own guarantee, which is separate from ours. Everything else we do is tested and certificated to BS 7671, and you keep the paperwork.
